On February 10, 2025 Eric Cobb, 28, was charged with murdering his mother 51-year-old Erika Winford in Jacksonville, FL. Eric played basketball for the University of South Carolina, but he was kicked off the team and went to play at UCONN.
Eric is accused of shooting Erika at a residence. Police were called and found Erika unresponsive wrapped in blankets and towels in the backyard dead. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
Eric was arrested charged with murder, he was denied bond. Eric was a highly recruited basketball prospect coming out of high school.
He started his career at the University of South Carolina. He spent just one season there before he got kicked off the team for shooting a BB gun at people. He then transferred to the University of Connecticut for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons. Eric was not drafted by the NBA.
