Shikeither Smith, 35, (Seen Left) was killed by her boyfriend today, her body was found at a home on Newcastle St. at 6:30 am.
Police have charged Thomas McCray, 34, (Right) with the murder of Shikeither.
Detectives determined that Shikeither and Thomas had been in a long-term relationship. Police also determined that Thomas has a crack cocaine habit.
Police located Shikeither shot to death on Newcastle Street in west Charlotte.
Thomas was an immediate subject of interest and he was located on scene by responding officers. Police are not searching for any additional suspects.
Thomas was subsequently charged with 1st degree Murder. Thomas was on cocaine and also was charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine.
