Jakayla told her family that she gave birth to the baby at home and then took the baby to the hospital.
Her family went to the hospital with Jakayla to see the baby. Jakayla then told hospital staff that she dropped the baby off at the hospital and wanted to see the baby.
Hospital staff said they had no record of the baby at the hospital. Surveillance video was then reviewed, and there was no evidence that Jakayla took the baby to the hospital.
Police got involved and cops say Jakayla admitted to the murder citing that she was not ready to be a mother because it was too expensive.
The baby was found by police in the dumpster dead.
Jakayla faces a capital murder charge.
