ARREST MADE IN MURDER OF ASPIRING RAPPER

On December 17, 2020 Stoni Asbury, 21, was charged with the murder of Jontavius Hall, 23. Jontavius was shot and killed on December 13, 2020 at an apartment complex on Caroway St. Charlotte, NC at midnight. Jontavius was an aspiring rapper with a huge following.

Jontavius was shot in a motor vehicle in the parking lot of the apartments.

Officers were on a self-initiated traffic stop near the intersection of Pavilion Blvd. and University City Blvd. when they heard several shots being fired in the area. As they began to investigate the source of the fired shots, they located Jontavius with a gunshot wound on Caroway Street.

Paramedics were immediately requested and began administering life-saving efforts to Jontavius. However, Jontavius was pronounced deceased on the scene a short time later.

On December 17, 2020 Stoni was arrested and charged with first degree murder and felony conspiracy.
