These 2 beauties are accused of knocking down a door and barging in to fight their ex’s new girlfriend. Victim cut in throat during baby mama drama
Maria Hideky Sarmiento Hernandez, 27, and Genesis Velez, 19, were arrested on May 20, 2026 accused of attempted murder in Charlotte, NC.
Maria and Genesis are accused of driving to Maria’s ex-boyfriends residence to fight his new girlfriend. Maria and John have a child together. While in route, Maria had called John’s phone which had been answered by the new girlfriend.
This made Maria very angry, she is accused of making several verbal threats to the new girlfriend over the phone. A short time later, Maria and Genesis allegedly arrived at the residence and began beating on the door while yelling.
John and his girlfriend where in the bedroom. It is alleged that Maria and Genesis were able to force entry into the residence. The women are accused of running past John and into the bedroom where the girlfriend was.
Maria and Genesis immediately jumped onto the girlfriend and began striking her repeatedly with closed fists, prosecutors say. Genesis is accused of pulling out a large knife and cutting the girlfriend’s chest, throat, and abdomen while screaming
“I don’t care!”, “I’m crazy!” and “I’ll kill you!”
John was able to pull Genesis off of the bed at which point he pushed Maria and Genesis out of the residence. The girls are accused of forcing their way back in the residence.
Cops were called and the suspects ran. The girlfriend was bleeding very badly and sustained a laceration to the inside of her upper lip, an abrasion on the front of her throat, and multiple lacerations to both wrists, hands and fingers. One of the lacerations required a large number of stitches.
Maria and Genesis were later arrested charged with attempted murder, breaking and entering, kidnapping, and communicating threats.
