2 SUSPECTS CHARGED AFTER MAN KILLED IN SHOOTING

On February 24, 2021 Jalen Thomas, 20, and a male 16-year-old juvenile were charged with the murder of Cinquay Farrer, 30, in Charlotte, NC.

Cinquay was killed on December 22, 2020 during a shooting on Fairbrook Drive. Cinquay was pronounced deceased on scene by medics.

As a result of continued investigation, homicide unit detectives identified Jalen and the juvenile as suspects in this case and warrants were issued for their arrest. On February 24, 2021, Jalen was arrested by members of the Charlotte SWAT Team and the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.

Following an interview with the detectives, Jalen was transferred to the jail and was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. 

Jalen was also charged with assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflict serious injury regarding a different case.

On February 24, 2021, the juvenile was also arrested by members of CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. He is charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
