CUSTOM AND BORDER PROTECTION OFFICERS ARREST IMPOSTORS AT UNITED STATES ENTRY

Date:

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations arrested two men from Mexico after they attempted to enter the United States utilizing someone else’s entry documents in Hidalgo, Texas.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, officers assigned to the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge encountered a 26-year-old man from Oaxaca, Mexico at the pedestrian walkway seeking to enter the United States. An officer referred the pedestrian to secondary inspection where additional examination revealed that the valid documents he presented to enter the U.S. did not belong to him.

Less than an hour later, at the same border crossing, officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Jalisco, Mexico after he attempted to enter the U.S. illegally as a pedestrian by also utilizing someone else’s entry documents.

Officers discovered that both men did not possess legitimate entry documents to enter or reside legally in the U.S., therefore officers arrested them and presented them before a U.S. federal magistrate for alleged violation of U.S. immigration law.
