Marcus wore a stocking cap during his mugshot, allegedly driving dirty in stolen Dodge Charger with drugs
32-year-old Marcus Harris was arrested on June 5, 2026 on Moretz Ave. Charlotte, NC all while wearing a stocking cap due to a new jail policy that allows inmates to wear head coverings for religious purposes.
Marcus is accused of driving a stolen Dodge Charger. Dodge Chargers are very popular fast cars. A cop initiated a traffic stop on Marcus for the Dodge Charger displaying a fictitious South Carolina registration plate that came back to a Honda Accord.
A odor of marijuana was coming from inside the vehicle. Several bags of marijuana were found hidden under the dash of the vehicle.
Officers ran the VIN of the Dodge Charger and the database information relayed the Dodge Charger was stolen in Charlotte NC on
01/01/2026. Marcus was subsequently arrested for marijuana and possession of stolen motor vehicle.
The jail now allows inmates to wear hats, durags, hijabs, and other head coverings during arrest photos for religious freedom. The new jail policy was started after Laila El Ali sued the Mecklenburg County Jail and the racist Sheriff Garry McFadden after she was forced to remove her hijab during an arrest despite her muslim religion.
