Derrick Fitzgerald, 57, died from cocaine and fentanyl toxicity in Charlotte, NC. Derrick was a entertainer who singed and did tap dance. He sometimes performed with his daughter. Derrick died on May 15, 2025 at his home. He was found dead on the couch. After death findings show Derrick had cocaine in his bodily system at a rate of 0.058 mg along with 7.0 ml of fentanyl.
Derrick was popular and well known in the community. Derrick attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Derrick’s official cause of death was fentanyl and cocaine toxicity. Fentanyl is killing people at a very high and alarming rate.
