BABY OVERDOSES ON FENTANYL, PARENTS ARRESTED

On June 11, 2022 a 3-year-old girl named Jaelynn Carter overdosed on fentanyl in Broward County Florida. The girl’s parents were arrested and are identified as Janett Carter, 38, and Walter Carter, 40. Janett allegedly had cocaine in the house.

Jaelynn was in the home with her parents when she collapsed and was found unresponsive without a pulse. Paramedics were called, and they had to inject Narcan into Jaelynn.

The girl was revived and taken to the hospital. Both parents and their daughter tested positive for fentanyl. Marijuana and cocaine were found in the home.

Walter and Janett Carter were charged with child neglect with great bodily harm. Walter also faces a charge of cannabis possession and Janet also faces a charge of cocaine possession.

The child is in child protective custody.
