$3 MILLION IN HARD NARCOTICS HID IN FRESH CARROT SHIPMENT

$2,987,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin were intercepted in a commercial shipment of fresh carrots arriving from Mexico on Nov. 24, 2020 in Pharr, Texas.

A tractor/trailer hauling a commercial shipment of fresh carrots arrived from Mexico at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility. A detailed secondary inspection of the haul resulted in the discovery of the narcotics.

Officers removed 113 packages of methamphetamine and 31 packages of heroin. The heroin is valued at $765,000 and the methamphetamine is valued at $2,222,000.

Customs and Border Protection seized the narcotics along with the tractor/trailer.
