Video shows Danquirs Franklin being shot and killed by Officer Wende Kerl at a Burger King on Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC. On August 14, 2019 the decision was made not to charge Officer Kerl.
On March, 25, 2019 Danquirs came to the Burger King with a gun. Danquirs jumped the counter assaulted people, and even pointed his gun at someone.
Danquirs overturned items in the Burger King and even forced his way to the back of the Burger King.
911 calls were made and Officer Kerl responded to the scene. Officer Kerl commanded Danquirs to drop his gun, when Danquirs was in the process of dropping the gun, Officer Kerl shot and killed Danquirs.
However, prosecutors could not prove to a unanimous jury beyond a reasonable doubt that Officer Wende Kerl’s belief that she faced an imminent threat of death of great bodily harm was unreasonable. Therefore, Officer Kerl will not face any charges in the killing of Danquirs.
