Cop gets ‘Fred Flintstoned’ into the ground after being dragged by speeding car near Beatties Ford Road
Michael Cornwell, 27, was arrested on July 7, 2022 accused of running over a police officer, dragging the officer for 25 feet in a speeding vehicle on Lasalle Street Charlotte, NC.
On July 7, 2022 the officer pulled Michael over during a traffic stop on Lasalle Street for an alleged window tint violation.
Michael was asked to step out of the vehicle, but he allegedly refused.
The cop tried to over power Michael and opened the passenger door to try taking out a duffel bag while also trying to pull Michael out of the vehicle.
Michael is accused of then driving off while the cop’s arms were still caught in the vehicle.
At that moment, the cop recognized that he was being dragged over 20 feet as the vehicle sped down the road. The cop then let go of the vehicle and hit the ground hard rolling round and round, the cop’s foot was ran over in the process.
Other cops began to chase the suspect throughout west Charlotte. Michael is accused of wrecking into 2 vehicles during the chase. Michael’s vehicle was eventually disabled in a hospital parking lot, and he was arrested.
Police say over 2 pounds of marijuana, a scale, baggies, and gun ammunition was found in the duffel bag.
Michael was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a governmental official, felony resisting, felony fleeing to elude, and possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana.
