On September 29, 2019 Lakisha McHam, 38, was killed in the afternoon after being struck by a large and heavy CSX cargo train on Dunn Avenue Charlotte, NC.

CSX cargo train personnel called 911 to report their train traveling northbound had struck a pedestrian/trespasser on the tracks. After a brief search of the tracks officers located an unresponsive Lakisha on the tracks under the train.
A man was killed by a Charlotte Light Rail Train in July.
Lakisha was pronounced deceased on site. The CSX train had two engines and was 5,800 feet long. The train crew consisted of a conductor and an engineer.
An Amtrak train hit and killed a man that was on train tracks in Charlotte.
