Several people were gathering and talking in downtown Portland around 2 a.m. Out of no where a suspect began shooting into the crowd. People began running immediately. 7 people were shot.
Makayla was shot and killed. Makayla was shot and originally taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries by good samaritans. Makayla later died from the shooting.
The other victims that were shot have varying degrees of severity.
Police detectives are still investigating what led to the shooting. However, the area is a very popular night spot with clubs, food, and entertainment.
