MAN WINS $1 MILLION LOTTERY AT FREEDOM DRIVE 7-11 STORE

Date:

A lottery winner has been crowned. Matthew Simmons won the $1 million lottery at the 7-Eleven convenience store on Freedom Drive Charlotte, NC.

Matthew became the latest North Carolinian to collect a big Mega Millions prize. The man picked up his $1 million prize on July 29, 2021 at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

He purchased his winning ticket for the July 2 drawing at the 7-Eleven.

Matthew’s $2 ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls to win the $1 million prize. The odds of matching all five white balls in a drawing are 1 in 12.6 million.

After claiming his prize, Matthew took home $707,501 after required federal and state tax withholdings. Ticket sales from draw games like Mega Millions make it possible for the lottery to raise more than $900 million per year for education.

Shane Hypio won $1 million at the Quick Trip gas station on Monroe Road.

Timiaya Ellison won $1.05 million at the Circle K gas station on University Boulevard Charlotte, NC while playing the lottery.

Alvin Livingston won $696,227 in the Cash 5 lottery jackpot at the Quik Trip gas station on Central Avenue.
