Former Catawba County Superior Court Judge Daniel Green, 67, was sentenced to 2 years in prison for ordering a child to give him oral sex. The judge was sentenced on August 12, 2021. Judge Green pled guilty to felony indecent liberties with a minor.
On March 30, 2019 Judge Green sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy at the Baymont Inn located in Asheville, NC. The judge gave the victim alcoholic drinks and showed the teen pornography.
The judge then demanded for the victim to perform oral sex on him, but the victim refused. Judge Green then threw the victim on the bed and rubbed his penis on the victim until the judge ejaculated on the victim.
The child escaped by pretending to need ice from the machine outside the hotel room. Once outside, the victim texted a close friend and called his mother, who then called the police.
The judge’s DNA was located on the boy.
Judge Green pled guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, providing liquor to a person under 21, and disseminating obscene material to a minor; in addition to pleading guilty to felony indecent liberties with a minor.
