Terry Tyler is 18-years-old now, but in February 2019 when he was 16, he raped a 21-year-old female Winthrop University college student in Rock Hill, SC. On August 16, 2021 Terry was sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty.
The crime occured at apartments on Rose Street. The female victim was approached by Terry late at night in the apartment complex parking lot. Terry pointed a gun at the victim and made her walk to a darkened area where he sexually assaulted her.
Terry dumped the woman’s purse and took an IPhone, ID cards, and her vehicle. Terry took a joy ride in the woman’s vehicle around the city of Rock Hill, but he was arrested hours after the crimes.
Terry pleaded guilty in criminal court to first degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, armed robbery, grand larceny, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a stolen gun.
