NO CHARGES FILED AFTER MAN SHOT AND KILLED ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Once again, the district attorney has decided not to pursue charges in a murder case. No charges will be filed in the shooting death of Jeffery Lineberger, 43, he was shot and killed in a triple shooting over Labor Day weekend 2021 on September 5th.

On September 23, 2021 detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit classified this case as a justified homicide. The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office consulted with police and concurred in the decision not to charge anyone in this case.

The shootout erupted on Springview Road Charlotte, NC around 4 a.m. on September 5, 2021. 3 people were shot. Jeffery was shot and killed on the scene.

The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office made the same decision not to charge anyone after Eric Howell, 29, was shot and killed in July 2021.
