Ricky Bush, 21, was sentenced to 78 months in prison on September 28, 2021. Ricky plead guilty to carjacking and gun charges in Charlotte, NC.
On the night of January 13, 2021, Ricky and his co-defendant carjacked a female at gunpoint as she was exiting her vehicle which was parked at the parking lot of an apartment complex.
Ricky pointed a firearm at the victim, and the two men grabbed the victim and pulled her from her vehicle. Ricky then got into the victim’s car and fled the scene, leaving the victim in the parking lot.
Officers located the victim’s car, officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the defendants sped off in an attempt to evade. The vehicle was later stopped; Ricky and his co-defendant were arrested.
Ricky pleaded guilty to carjacking and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. He is currently in federal custody. Upon designation of a federal facility, he will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons.
The co-defendant is still awaiting sentencing.
