DOUBLE HOMICIDE, SEVERAL SUSPECTS CHARGED WITH MURDER

Homicide Unit detectives have charged two additional suspects, in the murders of Isiah Jeremiah Doctor-Muhammad, 22, and 27-year-old Lee’Vantay Rankin in Charlotte, NC. Marteicus Taylor, 28, was the first man charged in the double homicide. 

On November 23, 2021 Anthony Mitchell, 28, and a male juvenile were both charged with 2 counts of murder.

Lee’Vantay and Isiah were shot and killed on March 15, 2021 on Kings Ridge Drive in Charlotte.   

A shooting transpired at apartments in the area and 3 men were shot. Isaiah died on the scene. Lee’vantay was rushed to the hospital where he died from his gunshots.

A third man was also shot and taken to the hospital, but he survived.

Marteicus was arrested and charged with both homicides in September 2021.

But during the investigation, information was developed by homicide detectives that led to Anthony and the juvenile as additional suspects in this case. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Anthony and a secured custody order was issued for the juvenile suspect. Both suspects were arrested. Anthony is charged with two counts of 1^st degree murder, possession of firearm by convicted felon, shooting into occupied vehicle, assault with deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and felony conspiracy.

The juvenile suspect is charged with two counts of 1^st degree murder.
