2 MEN KILLED IN DEADLY VEHICLE COLLISION, DWI SUSPECT CHARGED

Luke Drawdy, 32, and Restin Drawdy, 35, were both killed in a massive vehicle collision on November 23, 2021 on North Tryon Street Charlotte, NC.

On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at approximately 9:13 p.m., Luke was driving an Audi SUV and was attempting to turn onto North Tryon Street from a side entrance/exit of a shopping center. 

At the same time, a Volkswagen driven by Thomas Nix, 24, was in the left lane traveling on North Tryon Street. As the Audi attempted to turn left, it was struck by the Volkswagen on the driver’s side.

The Audi SUV sustained heavy damage. The Volkswagen also sustained heavy front-end damage in the tree line. Thomas was transported to Atrium Main Hospital by medics with injuries. 

Luke and his front seat passenger Restin were both pronounced deceased on scene. Both deceased occupants were wearing their seatbelts. Thomas was screened for impairment and was found to be impaired, officials say. 

Thomas faces charges of DWI, two counts of felony death by motor vehicle, and reckless driving.
