Miaysha Brannon, 23, was shot and killed by her own father Arthur Brannon on December 19, 2021 in Boiling Springs, SC. Arthur killed himself and also shot his wife Laquanda Brannon.
Miaysha was a student at Fort Valley State University in Georgia. Miaysha was at home on winter break from college during the holidays. On December 19, 2021 at 6:00 a.m. Arthur and Laquanda were in a verbal dispute.
Arthur then shot Laquanda and locked her outside of the house. Arthur then proceeded to force Miaysha in a room and locked the door; that is when Arthur shot and killed his daughter Miaysha. Arthur then shot himself to death.
Responding deputies arrived at the home around 6:30 a.m. to find Laquanda outside the home shot.
Laquanda was taken to the hospital for emergency care.
Not knowing Arthur had already committed suicide, hostage negotiators were sent in.
After failing to make contact with Arthur, a SWAT team was dispersed into the home and they found Arthur and Miaysha dead.
