On February 24, 2022 a juvenile girl was sexually assaulted at the Harris Teeter grocery store on Wyalong Drive Charlotte, NC. Lorenzo Esteban was arrested and charged with 2nd degree sex offense and attempted 2nd degree sex offense.
The girl was walking in the Harris Teeter parking lot when a suspect forced her into a vehicle and sexually assaulted her around 7 p.m.
The girl was then kicked out of the car, she was able to walk to Novant Mint Hill hospital to report and get treatment for the sexual assault.
The police Sexual Assault Unit responded to assist with the investigation and began canvassing the area in search of evidence and additional information. As the investigation continued, detectives identified Lorenzo as the suspect.
Lorenzo was arrested on February 25, 2022 and charged with various sex crimes.
