Several students required surgery after being involved in a dangerous collision on a school bus. Newly released video shows when a Ford Mustang crashed into a school bus from George I. Sanchez Community Collaborative Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.    

Following the February 23, 2022 rollover crash of the school bus, Mario Perez, 49, was charged with two counts of great bodily harm by vehicle.

The crash was just before 5:00 p.m. A white Ford Mustang, driven by Mario Perez was allegedly racing a blue Ford Mustang on Gibson Blvd. The school bus was crossing the intersection when the white Ford Mustang crashed into the side of the bus.

The force of the crash caused the school bus to roll onto the side. The blue Mustang continued driving and did not stop.

At the time of the crash there were approximately 23 students on the bus. Seven children were transported to area hospitals to be medically checked. Two of the children sustained serious injuries to their legs, one of which required surgery and another child had a pelvic fracture which also required surgery.

Mario the driver of the white Mustang was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for a broken femur which will require surgery.
