29-year-old Quay Davis was apprehended on May 24, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. Quay was accidentally released from the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte, NC on May 9, 2022.
Quay was then served with a warrant from Pasquotank County for possession of weapon by a prisoner and received a $75,000 secured bond.
Quay’s court information was entered incorrectly without the writ hold added. As a result, jail employees released Quay on May 9th.
Jail officials did not even recognize the mistaken release until days later on May 13th. Quay was out in the public free for 2 weeks until U.S. Marshalls tracked him down in Charlotte on May 24th.
