Angel Manuel Basurto-Mendoza, 18, is the suspect charged with the Charlotte, NC murder of 17-year-old Vladimir Antonio Garcia. On July 25, 2022 Angel was arrested after a high speed chase.
Vladimir was shot and killed on Sofley Road on Thursday, July 7, 2022 just before 6:55 a.m.
Officers responded to an check the welfare call and discovered the victim with a gunshot wound. Medic responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
At 9:00 a.m. on July 25th Angel was arrested in York, SC following a vehicle pursuit that started in Charlotte.
Angel will be extradited back to Mecklenburg County and will be charged with murder and robbery.
