On September 27, 2022 a crash took the life of a female driver on Interstate 485 in Mathews, NC around 3 a.m.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene and found 2 vehicles that were involved in a motor vehicle collision. One of the vehicles was knocked upside down.
The crash was near East John Street. The female victim died on impact from the crash. Others were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked creating a stand still due to the crash. 3 people were killed on Interstate 485 earlier this month in Charlotte.
