Shayma Roman, 17, was murdered during a shooting on September 28, 2022 in Brooklyn, New York.
Shayma was with young family members standing outside of an apartment building when 2 males approached and began firing shots.
Shayma was shot in the chest. The suspects fled. Shayma’s sister held her in her arms until paramedics arrived. Shayma was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, Shayma died at the hospital.
Authorities believe the shooting was gang related, although Shayma was not the intended target, as she was not in a gang.
