Sadly on Memorial Day 2023 May 29th Whitney Johnson, 33, was killed in a vehicle head on collision in Charlotte, NC on Sunset Road. Whitney leaves behind a twin and a loving family.
The crash was on Memorial Day at 9:33 p.m. Whitney was driving a Honda vehicle on Sunset Road when it traveled left of center, crossed the center lines and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram truck.
Both vehicles immediately sustained heavy front end damage. Charlotte Fire Department and Medic responded to the scene. Medic pronounced Whitney deceased on scene.
The driver and front passenger of the Dodge truck were transported to Atrium Health Main hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was screened for impairment at the hospital, and was found not to be impaired.
Whitney is a former student at Phillip O. Berry High School in Charlotte.
