MAN SOLD COCAINE AND FENTANYL TO UNDERCOVER COPS IN CHARLOTTE

Newly released details show how Christopher Townsend, 31, was busted selling cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and guns to undercover cops in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Alerts just got an Instagram account.

Christopher was selling drugs from a home on Windsong Drive. After a few overdose deaths, cops were led to Christopher.

Undercover cops began making drug deals with the suspect. The cops bought 4 pounds of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl from Christopher on multiple occasions from mid 2021 to August 2022.

Christopher also sold the undercover cops AR-15s guns, ghost guns, and a machine gun switch; also known as Glock switch.

On one occasion $3,600 of fentanyl was sold to an undercover officer by the suspect. 

A few weeks later the suspect sold $6,000 worth of fentanyl to the undercover cop. Police arrested Christopher in August 2022 on federal gun and drug charges. 

Christopher pled guilty to drug trafficking in June 2023.
