Andrew Rivera is a dad that had fatal overdose on fentanyl, he was arrested for child abuse and selling drugs earlier. Now a man has been arrested that allegedly sold him drugs
Taylor Yates, 34, was arrested on July 20, 2026 in Charlotte, NC accused of selling the fentanyl drug that caused 33-year-old Andrew Rivera’s death. Andrew was a father of a young son. Andrew died from a fentanyl overdose in March 2026.

Back on March 2, 2026 911 was called after Andrew was found unresponsive in Waxhaw, NC. Andrew died on scene from an apparent fentanyl overdose. Cops launched an investigation and determined that Taylor allegedly sold the fentanyl to Andrew.
After a months long investigation, Taylor was arrested charged with felony death by distribution and trafficking in fentanyl in July 2026. Under North Carolina General Statutes, it’s a felony offense to distribute illegal drugs that result in death.
Andrew was arrested in 2021 accused of trafficking heroin and child abuse.
