A young child was stabbed to death in neck allegedly by his dad
On July 9, 2026 5-year-old Khalil was murdered allegedly by his father Jehaaz-Akil Echoles, 31, in Pineville, NC. Father son fights are immense.
The homicide was at apartments on Sabal Park Dr. Jehaaz is accused of breaking into his girlfriend’s apartment by knocking down the door. The suspect is accused of going into his 5-year-old son’s room and stabbing him in the neck.
Khalil died on scene. The victim was transported to Atrium Health Hospital in Pineville and pronounced deceased.
Jehaaz fled the scene and was arrested at Taco Bell located at 10917 Carolina Place Pkwy. Jehaaz is charged with murder. He requested an attorney and did not speak with officers.
