MUSLIM WOMAN ARRESTED WITH HIJAB ON

Date:

Due to a ridiculous jail policy, inmates are now allowed to wear hats, durags, and hair coverings during arrests if they claim it is their religion

Nesrin Alabras, 42, was arrested with her hijab head covering on on June 6, 2026 in Charlotte, NC. The Mecklenburg County jail has a new jail policy that gives inmates permission to wear hats and head coverings during mugshots due to religion.

Nesrin Alabras

Nesrin is married. Her husband took out a domestic violence protective restraining order against her. The order required Nesrin to stay away from her victim husband.

Nesrin is accused of violating the order and coming to her husband’s apartment anyway. The husband called police, they only spoke Arabic so a police officer that spoke Arabic had to come to the scene to translate to other English speaking cops.

Nesrin was arrested charged with domestic violence protective order violation. The new jail policy started after Laila El Ali sued the Mecklenburg County Jail after she was arrested and not allowed to keep her hijab on.
