Matthew was a previous convicted drug trafficker from a 2012 case. After getting out of prison for the first offense, Matthew had quick connections to receive 63 kilograms of cocaine that was loaded on an 18-wheeler truck.

Matthew was on federal supervised release for the previous drug conviction. In 2023 while on probation law enforcement learned that Matthew had arranged a large delivery of narcotics that included 63 kilograms of cocaine.

On December 9, 2023, law enforcement intercepted the delivery when the 18-wheeler truck loaded with the drugs arrived at the meeting location.

When Matthew saw law enforcement on the scene he attempted to flee. He was later arrested and admitted he had ordered 63 kilograms of cocaine.

In January 2026 Matthew pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute. He remains in federal custody. At sentencing, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison due to the prior offense, and a maximum of life in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
