Juan Hernandez, 57, was arrested on July 17, 2025 in Charlotte, NC accused of raping his 10-year-old step daughter.
Detectives received a DSS referral regarding a 10-year-old-girl being sexually assaulted by her stepfather Juan. The suspect is accused of coming into her bedroom for years and sexually assaulting her.
Records say the suspect came into the victim’s bedroom, would take off her pants and underwear, and touch her private areas.
Prosecutors say Juan had sex with the victim on multiple occasions. The girl would often times lock her bedroom door, but Juan would use a knife to unlock the door and come in and rape her, according to official documents.
The girl would sometimes be forced to sit on Juan’s lap. The girl was brave enough to tell someone at school and DSS was notified.
Cops came to the home and the girl’s mother said the girl would wear provocative clothing and she would see Juan staring at her. Police then arrested Juan charging him with rape and indecent liberties.
