DRUG USER FOUND DEAD FROM FENTANYL AND COCAINE AT APARTMENTS

41-year-old Herbert Sturdivant died from a fentanyl and cocaine overdose in Charlotte, NC at apartments on February 22, 2025.

Herbert was at apartments on Fernwood Dr. when he was found dead. The decedent had a past medical history significant for substance abuse.

There was no evidence of acute injury. The amount of fentanyl in Herbert’s body was 35 ml and the amount of cocaine was 0.027mg.

Fentanyl is a powerful respiratory suppressant and causes cessation of breathing. Cocaine is a cardiotoxic
stimulant. Stimulants can cause cardiac arrhythmias, which are a kind of heart attack.

The official cause of death for Herbert was fentanyl and cocaine toxicity.
