The pastor of New Providence Baptist Church has been charged with multiple sex offenses involving children.
Pastor Jerry Friday, 61, is charged with 1-count of felony Statutory Sex Offense, 4-counts of felony Indecent Liberties with a Child, 1-count of felony Disseminating Obscene Material to a Minor, and 2-counts of misdemeanor Sexual Battery.
Pastor Friday was arrested at his residence on North Myrtle School Road in Gastonia, NC.
The Gaston County Police Department says multiple juvenile victims were identified during the course of the investigation and that the incidents took place on church property and at private residences.
Pastor Friday is being held without bond at the Gaston County Jail.
