FIRE INTENTIONALLY SET AT APARTMENT COMPLEX

Date:

The fire was purposely set by an unknown suspect.

In the early a.m. hours of March 11 the Charlotte Fire Department responded to a structure fire. Upon arrival, Engine 65 and Battalion Chief 4 reported flames through the roof of the apartment clubhouse and immediately transmitted a second alarm.

Fire Investigators and Arson Detectives were notified and responded to the scene.

During the investigation, members of the Arson Task Force and the Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force determined that the fire had been intentionally set that damaged the apartment clubhouse.

The fire was estimated to have caused more than $300,000 dollars in damage.

At this point in the investigation, detectives do not believe that the fire on Kelston Place is related to the arson on Prospect Drive that occurred on March 07, 2019.
