Fuaad Ali, 23, allegedly shot and killed Jamontae Morris, 22, at off campus apartments used by the University of North Carolina Charlotte on March 18, 2019 on Forty Niner Avenue.
Detectives requested the assistance from the U.S. Secret Service and State Bureau of Investigation to locate and arrest Ali on March 23. Ali was found, arrested, and then charged with murder & possession of firearm by a convicted felon.
On March 18 an altercation occurred at the off campus apartments that resulted in Jamontae being shot. Jamontae was transported to the hospital by paramedics with life-threatening injuries.
One day later Jamontae was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center.
