DEAD MAN FOUND BEHIND SHOPPING CENTER, THE FOUL SMELL GAVE IT AWAY

On Friday, June 14, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., ‘missing persons detectives’ in Charlotte, NC recovered the remains of missing person Otis Watson, 60, during a search in a wooded area behind a shopping center located at 201 W. Arrowood Rd.

The smell of a dead body led emergency responders to Mr. Watson’s body.

The Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the dead body as Mr. Watson. No foul play is suspected in Mr. Watson’s death.

On Sunday, June 2, 2019, officers were notified that Mr. Watson was last seen on May 26, 2019, and had not returned home. Family members and friends reported the unusual nature of Mr. Watson not being heard or seen from and had concerns about his health.
