MARIJUANA WORTH $1.5 MILLION SEIZED IN TEXAS

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility in Texas intercepted $1,500,000 worth of marijuana in a commercial shipment arriving from Mexico.

The seizure occurred on June 27, 2019 after a officer referred a tractor/trailer arriving from Mexico with a manifested load of granulated rubber for a non-intrusive imaging system inspection.

A thorough secondary examination of the shipment resulted in officers discovering 772 packages of alleged marijuana weighing 7,302 pounds concealed within the shipment.

Border Patrol seized the narcotics, the tractor/trailer along with the shipment. The case remains under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations.
