Sheila Mosby, 53, was killed in a bad car accident in Charlotte, NC on July 3, 2019. Several other people were injured including Sidney Ngoma, 25. A man suspected of driving under the influence of drugs caused the wreck.
The motor vehicle collision occurred on Oakdale Road.
The two-vehicle collision involved a 2009 Hyundai Sonata and 2016 Dodge Charger.
The Hyundai Sonata was traveling when the driver crossed left of center on the double-yellow line and struck the Dodge Charger. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was Jonathan Vance, 46.
The front passenger in the Hyundai Sonata who was Sheila Mosby was transported to Atrium Health by Medic with life threatening injuries where she later died. Both drivers and other occupants of both vehicles were also transported to Atrium Health with serious injuries. Sidney was a passenger in the Hyundai Sonata.
None of the other injuries appear to be life threatening at this time.
Drug impairment for Mr. Vance is suspected at this time. Detectives will be seeking charges on Mr. Vance.
