$1 MILLION WORTH OF HEROIN SEIZED IN TEXAS

U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations at the Pharr International Bridge in Texas seized $1,150,000 worth of heroin and cocaine that officers discovered within a commercial truck arriving from Mexico.

On Sep. 14, 2019, officers working at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility referred a tractor/trailer arriving from Mexico with fresh produce for further inspection. Utilizing non-intrusive imaging systems’ equipment as part of the secondary examination along with all available tools and resources, officers discovered 11 packages of alleged heroin and one package of alleged cocaine hidden within the Freightliner tractor.

Officers seized 28.22 pounds of heroin valued at $1,129,000 and 2.69 pounds of cocaine valued at $21,000 along with the commercial tractor.
