VICTIM DIES FROM CORONAVIRUS IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY

The first confirmed death in Mecklenburg County due to the Novel Coronavirus was on March 29, 2020. The individual died and was 60 years old and also a resident of Mecklenburg County.

The death emphasizes the importance to stay at home and away from others to stop the spread of the Coronavirus health officials say.

Coronavirus remains a very serious situation in Mecklenburg County and residents are required to comply with the ‘Stay at Home Order’ issued by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management. The goal is to slow the spread of the virus in Charlotte. All residents are encouraged to follow all public health orders.

As of 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, there are 315 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Mecklenburg County. The confirmed cases have continued to grow since the first reported case on Thursday, March 12.
