On August 27, 2020, at 11:16 p.m. Timothy Nicholson, 33, was arrested on charges of DWI, Felony Death by Vehicle, Involuntary Manslaughter, and Reckless Driving. Timothy was allegedly driving a vehicle that hit and killed Eric Love, 33, on W.T. Harris Boulevard Charlotte, NC.
A Volkswagen driven by Timothy was traveling on East W.T. Harris Boulevard when the pedestrian Eric was crossing W.T. Harris Boulevard near Albemarle Road. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk and walking against the traffic signals. The Volkswagen came through the intersection and allegedly struck the pedestrian.
Eric was laying unresponsive in the road with injuries. The vehicle that had struck Eric stopped and remained on scene. Medic responded, and the pedestrian was pronounced deceased from the injuries sustained in the crash.
Timothy was evaluated for sobriety and exhibited signs of impairment, cops say. Timothy was then arrested.
