OVER 5 KILOGRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE FOUND ON INDEPENDENCE BLVD.

Date:

Giovanni Hernandez-Zapata, 34, and Dalia Chinito-Noyola, 35, were arrested on drug trafficking charges after several kilos of meth was found in a traffic stop.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Eradication Team seized over 5 kilos of methamphetamine following a narcotics investigation on the evening of October 18, 2020. The investigation included a vehicle stop and occurred near the Unionville-Indian Trail Road and Independence Blvd. intersection in Indian Trail, NC.

A positive alert by a police dog signaled the presence of meth.

The two suspects are in the Union County Jail facing two charges each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. Both suspects live in Winston-Salem, NC.

Sheriff Eddie Cathey stated:

“This seizure and these arrests proves that hard work and persistence pays off. Our narcotics detectives and the K-9’s assigned to the unit work hard to identify the traffickers responsible for transporting, selling and distributing these dangerous drugs. A seizure of this magnitude does make a difference but we know there is still a lot of work to be done.”
