On October 27, 2020 Jairus Gaskin, 30, was charged with the Charlotte, NC murder of Deante Brown, 28, Jairus is the second suspect charged. The first suspect charged was Da’Reem Gaskin, 27, he was arrested on September 15, 2020.
Deante was killed on September 6, 2020 in a shooting. Deante was shot at an unknown location and then dropped off at a hospital where he died. Da’reem was arrested with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is charged with murder, discharging a firearm into occupied vehicle in operation, and firearm by felon.
As a result of continued investigation, homicide unit detectives also identified Jairus Gaskin as a suspect in this case and arrested him on October 27. Jairus is charged with murder.
