DISCOUNT TIRE EMPLOYEE KILLED ON THE JOB DURING SWAT ENCOUNTER

On November 14, 2020 a employee at Discount Tire was shot and killed at 575 Dickens Place NE. Concord, NC.

39-year-old Jeremy Monty Spann is charged with one count of murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Around 11:22am, officers from the Concord Police Department responded to a call of a verbal dispute at the mentioned Discount Tire store. Jeremy had allegedly entered the store armed and fired shots. Several employees and customers ran out of the store.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to Discount Tire store employees who said that a co-worker was inside the store along with an armed suspect. SWAT was called and successfully negotiated with Jeremy as he surrendered.

Officers then searched the premises and located a deceased Discount Tires employee.

Jeremy is currently being held in the Cabarrus County jail under no bond. There is no word on a motive that led to the Discount Tire employee’s murder.
