Date:

19-year-old Tre Brown allegedly scammed over $980,000 from a Kroger grocery store he worked at in Duluth, Georgia. Tre was arrested on January 21, 2021.

As an employee at Kroger Tre allegedly created false returns at the grocery store between December 2020 and January 2021.

Detectives say Tre was able to create over 40 returns for non-existent items and put them on several credit cards. The returns ranged in price from $75 to over $87,000 officials say.  In total, Tre was allegedly able to steal over $980,000 during a two-week time period.

Corporate employees from Kroger noticed the alleged fraudulent transactions and contacted authorities.

Investigators say Tre purchased clothes, guns, shoes, and two vehicles with the money. Prior to being arrested, Tre totaled one of the vehicles. A large sum of the money was returned after Tre was arrested.
